SEQ Communications and Organising Officer

The Retail and Fast Food Workers Union represents members across Australia in the retail and fast food sectors.
The primary focus of the role is to:
- Recruiting new members to the Union;
- Planning, developing and implementing online campaigns;
- Managing the social media and online platform presence of the union;
- Identifying, forming and supporting Union delegates and activists;
- Representing workers in meetings and other forums; and
- Implementing the campaigns of the Union.
The Union is engaged in numerous campaigns and actions involving members at some of Australia’s largest retailers and fast food companies. This position will involve working closely with Union officials, delegates and members on campaigns to fight for the rights of Australia’s lowest paid workers. The majority of the role involves national online and digital communications work. The role is based in SEQ to facilitate some local organising work.
Salary: Pro rata $83,000 plus superannuation.
